How Does a Spot Occur?
Spots occur on the skin due to excessive production or irregularity of melanocyte cells that give the skin its natural color. Although most of the spots occur as a result of long-term exposure to sunlight, genetic factors, hormonal drugs, aging, pregnancy and some chemical substances can also disrupt the melanocyte cell structure.
How Is Laser Spot Treatment Performed?
Laser systems used for spot treatment are lasers specially produced for this procedure. Laser spot treatment is applied to return the different color of the spot on the skin to its original color by means of laser beams. Laser beams thrown into the spotted area disintegrate the different color in the melanin pigment that forms the spot. The color of the disintegrated pigment fades and is absorbed by our body in a short time. Thus, the removal of skin blemishes is ensured.
How Many Sessions Does Laser Spot Treatment Take?
The application time and the number of sessions required for the complete elimination of the spots vary depending on the skin condition of the patient and the intensity of the spots.
Spot Treatment with Helios 3 Q-Switch Laser
Today, with the help of developing technologies, innovative treatment methods have been developed in the treatment of skin blemishes, as in many areas. One of them, Q-Switch laser therapy is used safely in the removal of skin defects by using laser beams.
HELIOS III Q-Switch laser device is used in our center for laser spot treatment. With this device, which has two wavelengths (1064 nm Nd: YAG and 532 nm KTP), it is possible to treat both epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions.
532 nm KTP wavelength is used for laser spot treatment of epidermal pigmented lesions such as sunspots, freckles, age spots on the back of the hand, and seborrheic keratosis.
In laser spot treatment of dermal pigmented lesions such as melasma and PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), 1064 nm Nd: YAG wavelength is used.
